Larry W. Russell, 62, Shelbyville, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at his home following an illness. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Open Door Christian Center in Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Russell Jr.; mother, Lois Elizabeth Barnett Cox Russell; and two brothers, Melvin Ray Cox Sr. and Donald Faris Cox. Survivors include his loving wife, Virginia "Kay" Mae Russell. They had just celebrated 41 years of marriage on June 11, 2014. Additional survivors include daughter, Shenoha Marie Russell Ellis (Paul); son, Ittin Wayne Russell (Dawn); six grandchildren, Barry Paul Stenger III (Ashley), Tori-Anne Buckholtz (Shawn), Sebastien Orion Ellis, Aveon Eclipse Ellis, Sarah McKinzie Russell and Julia Brooke Stenger; three great-grandchildren, Ian Buckholtz, Camryn Stenger and Carter Stenger and his mother-in-law, Versae Mae Shubert. The family has requested no flowers. Donations may be made to the Open Door Christian Center, 2435 Taylorsville Rd., Bloomfield, KY 40008 or to Hosparus of Louisville.

Friends will gather in celebration of his life 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at Shelby Christian Church, 2375 Frankfort Rd., Shelbyville. Sis.
