Margie Lucille Crawford Racer, age 89, formerly of Nitro, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at her home in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Nitro, West Virginia and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #153 in Nitro, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by husband, Oscar James Racer; parents, James Kepple Crawford, Sr. and Grace Kees Crawford; and brothers, Charles Larkin Crawford and James Kepple Crawford Jr. She is survived by daughter, Joanna Wright (Rev. Gene) of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, James Franklin "Jamie" Wright (Amanda) of Lexington and Mary Crawford "Marcie" Wright of Shelbyville. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Shelbyville First Baptist Church with Rev. Andy McDonald and Rev. William A. Carter officiating. Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. Shannon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shelbyville First Baptist Church Piano Fund.
