Marilyn Ann "Snookie" Carpenter, 56, of Taylorsville, died on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born in Spencer County, she was preceded in death by her mother, Della Mae Carpenter; her long-time friend and companion, Stevie Walker; and her mother's friend and companion, Earl Stone, who helped rear her from childhood. Survivors include her daughter, Christiana "Angel" Walker of Louisville; father, Kenneth McMakin Sr. of Louisville; brothers, Kenneth McMakin, Jr. and Dale Claxton, both of Bardstown; sisters, Wanda Gail Carpenter of Taylorsville and Virginia McMakin-Williams of Springfield. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Second Baptist Church of Taylorsville. Interment will be in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville. The wake will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Second Baptist Church of Taylorsville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Choir Fund of Second Baptist Church.
