A former Bloomfield resident, Mr. Melvin Garland Mobley Sr., age 76, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Autumn View Health Care in Buffalo, New York. He was a retired farmer and truck driver, a member of Moose Lodge #992, Buffalo, New York, and a member of Burch Branch Baptist Church in Shelby County. He was the son of the late Owen Jerry and Lelia Muncy Mobley and was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Mobley, two sisters, Inis Mobley and Betty Mae Williams, a grandchild, Kimberly Banta, and a great-grandchild, Waylon Mobley. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy (Wendell) Cameron of LaGrange; two sons, Robert (Jennifer) Mobley of Fairfield, Melvin Mobley Jr. of Cambellsburg; a sister; Patricia Ann Burke of Pleasureville; and his companion, Janet Fadale of Blasdell, NY; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for will be Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Rev. Lana Burgin will officiate. Burial will be in Cox's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may kindly call at the Houghlin Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday. The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
