Patricia Ann 'Pat' Jennings, age 72, of Louisville, passed away on November 8, 2017. Pat was born in 1945 in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She attended Shelbyville Schools and was a graduate of Shelby County High School in 1965. She graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College and received a masters degree from Western Kentucky University.
Pat was a life long educator who taught at Simpsonville Elementary in Shelby County, Klondike Elementary in Jefferson County, and Eminence Independent Schools in Henry County. She was awarded Kentucky District Teacher of the Year in 1992. She retired in 1998 after 30 years of teaching. Pat loved keeping in touch with her students, family, and friends.
She is survived by a brother, Herbert Tom Jennings (Dotty) of Louisville; sister, Rosemary Jennings Vaughan (Edgar) of Atlanta, Georgia; 4 nephews, Mark Thomas Jennings (Beth), James Todd Jennings, Ryan Edgar Vaughan, and Scott Patterson Vaughan, and a niece, Leanna Kathryn Allen (Dustin).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Dr. Leigh Bond officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until time of funeral on Saturday at the funeral home.
