Richard “Rich” Pike, 59, of Shelbyville, died Friday, October 5, 2018 in Louisville. He was a native of Lorain, OH. He had retired from Ford Motor Company as a parts assembler and most recently had been working in the shipping department at Nifco in Shelbyville. He was member of the U.A.W. Union #862 and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Rich had many passions including being a "jack of all trades, master of none" handyman and he loved helping people out with those skills. He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, playing pool, and watching old movies like "It’s a Wonderful Life." At an early age he developed a love for train sets. His first train was an "American Flyer." He passed down his love for train sets to his daughter and his granddaughter. His greatest love, however, was the love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Carlton Pike and Alice Gertrude Wachowiak Pike; and his brother, Roger Earl Pike. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie Gallagher Pike of Shelbyville; his daughter, Candice Dees (Will) of Shelbyville; and his granddaughter, Madison Swistun of Shelbyville.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
