Robert "Bob" McAfee Pearce, 89, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in Louisville.

He was born in Middletown, Kentucky on April 15, 1929 to the late Robert Howard and Mary McAfee Pearce.

He was a member of the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and Duke University. He served in the Army from 1951-1953 where he was stationed at Camp Drake in Japan. After returning from the Army in 1953 he went to work at Pearce Motor Company with his father where he remained until 2008 when the dealership was sold. He was very active in the community serving on the Shelby County Industrial Foundation Board for over 50 years, director of Ky. Council of Economic Education, Shelbyville Independent School Board, Board of Kings Daughters Hospital, Board of Directors of Shelby County Trust Bank and was a member of the Shelbyville Rotary Club. He received the 1994 Kentucky Time Magazine Dealer of the Year Award.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Boswell Pearce, Shelbyville; daughters, Mary Pearce Cook (Frank), Louisville; Nannette Pearce, Shelbyville; granddaughters, Elizabeth Carriss (Ryan), Shelbyville; Sarah Smith, Nashville; Angie Cook Gingerich (Josh), Bowling Green; great grandchildren, Aiden Pearce Carriss and Ava Grace Carriss, Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jay Hodge officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
