Sara Catherine Ford Miller, 85, died Thursday, 14 June 2012, at her residence at Crescent Place.
A native of Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Kesler and Mary Olive McCann Ford. She was a member of the Christiansburg Baptist Church, where she was formerly active in the choir and the W.M.U. She was also a poll worker on election day for many years. A devoted wife and mother, she was a homemaker and the widow of Gerard Leo "Joe" Miller, Sr., to whom she was married for over sixty years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, William F. "Boo" Ford and Henry Jackson "Jack" Ford, and her sister, Helen Ford Baker.
Her survivors include her five sons, Greg Miller, and his wife, Ann, of Cleveland, Ohio, Dennis Miller, and his wife, Emma, of Valrico, Florida, Jobie Miller of Richmond Virginia, Steve Miller and his wife, Donna, of Shelbyville, and Jeffrey Lee Miller of Frankfort; her sister, Martha Ford Harper of Shelbyville; her nine grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, at the Christiansburg Baptist Church, with Reverend Herbert Slaughter officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Christiansburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M., until 8:00 P.M., Friday, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville.
