Wendell Berlin Snapp, 62, Lexington, died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington following a long illness. A native of Paris, KY, he was the son of the late Nova Berlin Snapp and Minnie Snapp Dotson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a certified nursing assistant in the private duty care field and had worked in the food service industry. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and caring for his animals. Survivors include his long-time friend, Tony H. Gowin of Lexington; a half-sister, Mary Ellen Gaunce of Paris and a half-brother, James William "Billy" Gardner of Xenia, OH. Cremation was selected in accordance with his wishes. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Grove Hill Cemetery in the Chapel. Per Wendell's request, it will be a casual affair. Because of his love of animals, expressions of sympathy may be made to one's local no kill animal shelter or local humane society. Tony would like to thank the medical staff at the UK Chandler Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital and express his appreciation for the care and concern shown to Wendell during his hospitalizations.
