William Eugene Hardin, 88, of Bagdad, formerly of Moreland, passed from this life on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Born July 16, 1924, he was the son of the late Stanley and Julia Marie Gaddis Hardin. He retired from Norfork Southern after 41 years where he worked as a track inspector. He was a US Army WWII veteran, a member of Bagdad Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Harris Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Katherine Bell Hardin; brothers, Stanley "Son," Jack and Bob Hardin; and grandson, Daniel "Buck" Marion. He is survived by one son, Stanley (JoAnn) Hardin of Elizabeth, IN; 2 daughters, Kathy (Ray) Marion of Bagdad and Sandy (Dan) Rutledge of Independence, KY; 3 grandchildren: Jessica (Erich) Ernspiker, Philip (Andrea) Rutledge and Nathan (Megan) Rutledge; and 2 great grandchildren: Dharma Marion and Christian Ernspiker. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 pm, Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with burial in Moreland Cemetery by Bro. Kenneth Smith and Pastor Philip Rutledge. Pallbearers are Philip and Nathan Rutledge, Erich Ernspiker, Donnie and Matthew Watts and Bill Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are Jessica and Christian Ernspiker, Andrea and Megan Rutledge, Dharma Marion, Travis Godbey and Sara Watts Aldridge. Visitation is 4-8 pm, Monday. Memorial contributions suggested to Bagdad Baptist Youth Program or Harris Creek Baptist Church.
