William "Bill" Ormsby McCarthy, 87, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Shelbyville. He was a native of Louisville and a member of the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for 60 years and an elder. He was the former owner of McCarthy Chevrolet in Shelbyville that he established in 1959. He was also the owner of Advanced Materials Handling Company in Louisville. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bobbye Jean Leonhardt McCarthy of Shelbyville; his sons, Michael Ormbsy McCarthy of New Castle and Jeff McCarthy (Leslie) of Shelbyville; his daughter, Kim McCarthy of Greensboro, NC; his sister, Rosemary Gramling of Miami, FL; his grandchildren, Jason McCarthy of Shelbyville and Brent McCarthy of Boynton Beach, FL; his nephew, Randy Gramling of Shelbyville; and his caregivers at Crescent Place and Crestview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. A Celebration Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6th at the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jay Hodge officiating. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a reception at the church immediately following the Celebration Service.
