Gathering of family and friends for Del R. Aukerman, 57, Shelbyville, will be held Sunday 1-3 p.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. He died Wednesday at his residence. A native of Dover, Delaware, he was a self-employed carpenter, member of BMW Motorcycle Club of Louisville and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was the son of the late Mildred McCann and Donald Terence Aukerman. Survivors include his sisters Terri K. (Dale) Fugate, Frankfort and Ann Aukerman, Lexington; niece Jennifer McCain (Adam) Barnett, Mt. Sterling, nephews Russell Adkins, Georgetown and Sam Smith, Lexington and beloved cousin Beth Ann Marty, Bridgeport, OH.
