Luther "Waddy" Jesse, 86, of Shelbyville died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home in Shelbyville. He was a member of Shelbyville First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and in many capacities including teaching Sunday School, nursing home visitation, serving as a volunteer at the Henderson House, and served on numerous committees. He was former owner of Shelbyville Auto Supply and former member of Shelbyville Board of Education. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan and a member of the Dairy Queen Coffee Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Zena Boswell Jesse; parents, Atha McCormack and E.G. Jesse, Sr. and sister, Martha Harper. He is survived by his daughters, Diane Yeager (Terry); Martha J. Lawson, and Susan B. Jesse all of Shelbyville; brothers, Millard Jesse, Guthrie Jesse, Jr., both of Waddy; Raymond Jesse (Jean), Shelbyville; sister, Carolyn Logan, Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Christy McEldowney (Jamie), Lauren Rosilio (Daniel), Emily Lawson, Courtney Lawson, Jason Kingsolver (Christin), Mollie Ellis, Jacob Ellis, Deica Brown (Michael), and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, April 22 at Shelbyville First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Moffatt, Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth and Rev. Terry Yeager officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 P.M. Monday, April 21 at the Shannon Funeral Home and after 1 P.M. on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
