Harold Edward Tingle, 77, died Friday, May 30, 2014, in Louisville. He was a member of Finchville Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member and director of Shelby County Farm Bureau and Southern States Shelbyville. He was an active member of Shelby County Cattleman's Association, F.O.P. Shelby Metro Lodge #51, Ky. Boys and Girls Sheriff's Ranch. He was retired Shelby County sheriff, also served as jailer during his term and served as deputy during his 20 3/4 years with the Sheriff's Dept. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy P. "Pepper" and Ella Barnes Tingle. He is survived by his wife of 55 1/2 years, Katherine Hanser Tingle, Shelbyville; brother, Larry Joe Tingle (Judy), Shelbyville; step nephews, John Donnelly (Cindy); Tim Donnelly; step niece, Carolyn Gordon; brother in law, Fred Hanser and niece, Susan McGee, all of Shelbyville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Boyd officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
