Mr. Francis "June" Frederick Reiss Jr., formerly of Shelbyville, graduated from earth to his heavenly home on June 3, 2014 in St. Cloud, Fl. Mr. Reiss graduated from Shelbyville High School. Francis was an ordained deacon of Baptist faith, and was a leader of Royal Ambassadors and a Kentucky Colonel. Francis loved woodworking, making many pieces of furniture, having learned this art of work from the late Mr. Barlow, also love repairing and refinishing antiques. He learned this by working with the late Conn West. Mr. Reiss was a veteran of W.W. 2, served from 1943 - 1945 in the U. S. Army Air Force, is a survivor of the Normandy invasion on June 6. He is preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Ruth Lanter Reiss, Father, Mr. Francis F. Reiss Sr., sister Martha D. Marcum. Survived by his wife of 68 years, Sarah F. (Tindall) Reiss; daughter, Sandra Kay (Morgan) Harney of St. Cloud, Fl.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Dawn (Jim) Tate of Duluth, Ga., William Harney of Texas, Michael Harney of Fl.; and 6 great grandchildren; one niece Mrs. Sue Ward; one nephew Gary Marcum; and sister in law, Mrs. Katie Montgomery of St. Cloud, Fl. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday June 9 at Shannon Funeral Home with Mr. James D. Tate officiating. Interment will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery.
