Myrtle McClain Daily, 91, of Shelbyville, died on Saturday, the 7th day of June, 2014. A native of Spencer County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Zora Alice Richardson McClain, and the widow of Frank Daily. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Shelbyville. A homemaker, she enjoyed canning and cooking and baking. Friends will remember her culinary skills, and how she made and shared with others, especially her zucchini bread. Bingo and watching television, particularly westerns, were two of her other favorite pastimes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Daily, her grandson, Brandon Daily, her brothers, Ben McClain, Billy McClain, J.W. McClain, and Bob McClain, and her sister, Jessie Keeling. Survivors include her sons, Richard Daily and his wife, Gladys of Shelbyville, Earl Daily and his wife, Sharon, of Shelbyville, Frankie Daily and his wife, Yolanda, of Mount Eden, Larry Daily of Lawrenceburg, and Dennis Daily and his wife, Medhalia, of Frankfort; daughters, Christine Tudor of Richmond, Carrie Daily of Shelbyville, and Judy Daily of Shelbyville; brother, James McClain of Shelbyville; sisters, Bessie Cook of Frankfort, and Dorothy Thacker of Washington County, Ind.; and her 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Pastor Barry Leake officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Church of Christ of Shelbyville.
