Mary Mullin Obituary

Mary Alice (Roemer) Mullin was born, raised and lived her entire life in The City-by-the-Bay that she dearly loved. She passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve morning at The Sequoias of San Francisco - where she resided for the past twelve years. She is survived by her son Michael Francis Mullin of Burlingame, CA, and her daughter Joan Ellyn Nesbit of Virginia Beach, VA. She was the loving matriarch of the Mullin/Nesbit clan consisting of her 2 children, in-laws Jean Finnegan Mullin and CAPT RCN (Ret) Keith Gordon Nesbit; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren ranging in age from 24 years to 6 months: Kathleen A. But this Classy Lady left us with a deep awareness of the blessings that accrue from a large, strong, loving family and many friends.
Mary Alice, the daughter of Charles Roemer and Mary Ellen Maloney, graduated from Presentation High School, class of 1936, with classmate Kay Fox, who was her friend and companion at The Sequoias. Alice and Frank Mullin were married in 1937, and remained a couple for 54+ years, until his death in 1992. Alice was the Broker-Owner of Beneficial Realty for many decades, and a member of the San Francisco Board of Realtors for over 50 years. She enjoyed showing off The City to visitors, friends and prospective clients, and was a marvelous hostess, with many good stories to tell.
A Memorial Mass in Celebration of the Life of Mary Alice Mullin will be said at St. Mary's Cathedral (Gough & Geary) on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM, followed by a reception at The Sequoias-1400 Geary Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Jesuits of California, or to your favorite charity. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private.
