"Charlie" Singleton was a long-time resident of the Bay Area. He served in the Army Signal Corps in World War II. Charlie received his BA with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He was a humanitarian and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather to his children Bruce, Debbie, and Carolyn Singleton and their families. Charlie was one of the most delightful, decent, and fun gentleman I was blessed to know. I first met him when he arrived to volunteer at the San Mateo County Suicide Prevention Center, where I served as the Executive Director. I then came to know him as a kind, wise, and cherished friend. He touched the lives of many people and we were all enriched for knowing him.
My sincere condolences to his family.
