Milan Milton Holdorf
Milan M. Holdorf
5/15/15 to 8/23/13
Milan M. Holdorf passed away at his home in San Francisco, less than two years from his 100th birthday.
He showed his talents in business and music at an early age. By ten he was selling candy that his mother made and singing in choirs.
A graduate of University of California Berkeley, he joined the Navy in 1942, served in the Pacific as a radio operator. He saved his Navy pay and shortly after the war he bought his first property.
Milan was a music teacher at Aptos Junior High. He also performed locally, singing and playing the guitar. He gave generously to charities, to his relatives and to his friends. Milan travelled the world during his sabbaticals from teaching and during his retirement years. It was hard to mention a place that Milan had not visited. He retained his beautiful baritone voice and would often surprise new friends on his travels with a few lines from an opera.
Milan was greatly loved by all. He will be sorely missed and long remembered.

Awww,God Bless you Mr. Holdorf! I had Mr. Holdorf for Music Appreciation in 8th grade,in 1963,at Aptos. He was hilarious, sometimes unintentionally. His is the one teacher, out of all my school days, that I remember the most.Something always happened in that class! We had talent shows and I was just laughing my head off thinking of it. I think he sang off key too, or he played the piano off key, but he loved to play and sing. Great, great guy!

Mr. Holdorf was my homeroom teacher and my counselor, when I attended Aptos Jr. High back in the late 1950's. As someone who of course enjoys music, I also enjoyed and benefited from taking his Music Appreciation class. Mr. Holdorf was an outstanding teacher.
