In 1934, Nello, his mother and four siblings immigrated to America. Nello's father, John, and eldest brother, Mario, immigrated adhead of Mussolini's grip on Italy and were waiting in the depression of 1934 to welcome the rest of the family. He also developed, owned and operated a mini storage company in Gilroy. Nello was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean; siblings, Mario, Fred, Elsa, Irma and Victoria; parents, John and Agatha. Styba, Walter - Richmond B.C. Canada
Walter Styba September 9th 1927 - June 19th 2015 The family of Walter Xenoos (Samuel) Styba is saddened by his passing on June 19, 2015, at Richmond General Hospital, age 87. Uncle Wally was born September 9, 1927 in Estevan Saskatchewan, the youngest child of Alex and Nettie Styba. Wally was a kind and generous man; his artistic nature took him from his childhood in the prairies to London and Paris studying art and design in the 1950s. After a brief time in Vancouver, Wally set off for his career path, first in Seattle, and ultimately in San Francisco where, in the 1960's, he worked as a designer for the illustrious Gump's store, catering to the refined tastes of San Francisco's finest citizens. The 1970's saw his return to Richmond to care for his Mother along with his beloved sister Lola, with whom he happily resided for the rest of his life. He spent his latter years corresponding with friends, reading and tending his own and many others gardens, always quick to lend a hand or help wherever he perceived a need. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews to whom he has been so kind, and his two elder sisters, Lola, and Lee. He is predeceased by sisters Elsie and Mary. A remembrance will be held at his home at 6520 Williams Road Richmond, at 2 pm, on July 4, 2015.
