A. Phillip Beiser

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully, June 12, 2013 at the age of 89. Janice, his wife of 61 years preceded him in death, passing in 2010. Survived by son Bruce, daughter Andrea, daughter-in-law Colleen, grandchildren Jarrod and Danielle. Born in Kansas City, MO, Phil left Kansas City in 1942 to serve as a lieutenant in the Army Signal Corps during WWII, he also served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He graduated from UC Berkeley 1949 with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a devoted lifelong Bear fan. Phil met Jani, in 1947 while both were attending Cal, they married in 1949 and remained devoted, loving partners for 61 years until Janice's passing in 2010. Phil worked in general contracting and heavy construction his entire professional career; was a member of Peninsula Temple Beth El from 1959 on, where he served on the Board of Directors. Janice and Phillip were residents of San Mateo for over 50 years and loved to spend their leisure time traveling the world, with stops in Europe, Russia, China, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, North and South America. There will be a private internment at Hills of Eternity Cemetery.
