Ann Lavezzo
Ann Lavezzo passed away peacefully in her home on November 28 from complications related to renal disease. She was held in the love and care of her family in the days preceding her passing. Ann is survived by her children, Steve, Julie, and Linda; Steve's wife, Bridgid Lavezzo; Julie's partner, Lea Ann Bernick; Linda's husband, Adam Shea; precious grandchildren, Emma, Claire, Kristi, and Jackson; Emma's husband John; brothers Tom and Bill and sister Lois. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, James J. Lavezzo, sister Ellen and brother John (Mervin). Ann was a native of San Francisco, born December 30, 1927 at UCSF to Ernestine (Cordero) and Thomas McCauley. She attended Lowell High School where she danced and was a member of the tennis team. Ann married her beloved husband, Jim, at Mission Dolores in 1954 and will be laid to rest with him at Skylawn Memorial Park. Ann was a loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister and daughter, adored Auntie to many nieces and nephews, and a caring presence to her longtime friends and their families. Mom was known for her love of home and family expressed in part by her beautiful decorating, exquisite sewing skills, and her mastery of the Lavezzo family pasta sauce. A devout Catholic, she drew much strength from her living faith. Ann touched friends and strangers alike with her kindness of heart. We will cherish her memory.
