Catherine Mary "Katie" Morley Dubrow Unexpectedly passed from this life on January 1, 2013- at the age of 60 years. Born on May 15, 1952 in San Francisco, California, Catherine was the beloved daughter of Mary and the late Luke M. Morley, devoted wife of Jeffrey Dubrow, loving mother of Jennifer (Lloyd) Lee, Shaun (Joy) Dubrow, Adam Dubrow & Ryan Dubrow and caring grandmother to Lucy and Miles Lee. Katie was the dear sister of Mary Ellen (James) Deignan, Luke W. (Lori) Morley, Monica (the late Christopher) Hinojos, Bernadette (Michael) Osborne, Michael (Robin) Morley, John Morley & the late Thomas J. Morley, as well as loving sister-in-law to Barbara (Bernard) Klein. Katie was the only daughter-in-law of the late Ben and Pearl Dubrow and also was preceded in death by her cherished uncle, Thomas W. Morley.
She will be missed greatly by her many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of St. Paul's High School in 1970, Katie was Senior Class Vice-President and shared her musical skills at church, playing the organ at weekly Mass and student liturgies. Katie earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from City College of San Francisco and attended the Academy of Art. She was extremely generous with her artistic gifts and creative talents, volunteering for many years at the schools her children attended in Danville, California-notably designing the mascots for Greenbrook and Sycamore Valley Elementary Schools as well as painting a beautiful mural for Sycamore Valley Elementary. Katie was a contributing illustrator of children's books & worked on many projects for St. Joan of Arc parish in San Ramon. She became very interested in genealogy & was working on a detailed family history covering multiple generations. Those who had the opportunity to witness her hard work and untiring spirit will forever remember her dedication, desire & detailed work ethic. Katie valiantly overcame many obstacles due to living with Type 1 diabetes for over 50 years and strove for a life of ability, not disability.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church (Valley & Church Streets) on January 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katie's memory can be made to the
