Duane W. Anderson (Andy)

Born in Johnstown, North Dakota, in 1922, Duane devoted his life to the law, the Democratic Party & to advancing the cause of the American labor union movement. Succeeded Harry Bridges as President of the SF CIO Labor Council in the late 1940s. Handled all West Coast litigation for the CWA labor union. Married to Ava Jean Barnes for more than 50 years. Father of Steven (deceased) & Karen Anderson Hunt (wife of Chris Hunt). He was a man of great convictions & faith & lived a long and colorful life. Stationed in the South Pacific during WWII; fought in the Battles of Luzon and Manilla. Loved being with his grandkids, Eliza (18) and Matt (15.5); visiting w/family & friends, baseball, politics, cards, & watching old Westerns on T.V. His favorite song was "It's a Wonderful World".
