Edward James Begley
Completed his life journey Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Layton, Utah. He was born May 26, 1926 in San Francisco, California. He was an only to child to his parents Edward Joseph Begley and Marguerite Campbell Begley.At the young age of 17, Edward enlisted in the Marine Corps and fought for his country. He served as a medic. He was in the intial landing party of the invasion of Iwo Jima during WW II. He met his wife, Dorothy Mae Alexander, while they were both working at Southern Pacific Railroad in San Francisco after the war. They were married November 22, 1955. Linda Chi Begley (Patrick) and Sandra Marguerite Winchester (Blake) are their surviving children, Amanda Linda Armstrong (John), Jessica Mae Palsson (Mike) grandchildren, Clara Jean Armstrong, Westin Pall Armstrong great grandchildren, Lloyd Shields his first cousin but brother in every sense of the word. Edward retired as a Lieutenant from the San Francisco Fire Department. He served mankind all his working years. To everyone who knew Ed please know that he is reunited with Dorothy who he missed dearly.
