Ernest Bloomfield

Ernest Bloomfield Loving father, grandfather and friend passed away on the 13th of February, 2013 at the age of 75. Ernie was born on August 19, 1937 in Berlin Germany. Loving brother to Irene Werner, loving father to Suzanne (Thomas) King, Leslie (Monty) Galvin, proud grandfather to Stephen King, Deborah King, Tami (Damian) Hill, Jenny (Matt) Palomar and David Fluckiger. Ernie is preceded in death by his father and mother Herbert and Alice Bloomfield, and niece Vicki Elnick. He had the gift of friendship, love, compassion and most of all charity. Ernie affectingly known as Ernie who started his business Ernest Bloomfield & Associates in San Francisco, over 40 years. Prior to starting his business he served in the Marine Corp and Army from 1956-59. His charitable passions were his non-profits (Haight Asbury Clinic), (Vine Village, Napa), (LA Conservation Corps) to name a few. He loved his race horses, Erniewho and Danzin with Franklin. He loved his bay area sports teams and on any given Sunday you could find him in his 1970s chair and ottoman cheering on his favorite teams. He was also a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ernie could likely be found after work at his favorite hangout the Big 4, sitting in his favorite stool at the end of the bar. Ty already had his favorite glass of cab ready to go. Dad, grandpa and dear friend, we will miss you.
Services will be held Tuesday, the 19th of February at Sinai Memorial Chapel, San Francisco at 11am. The burial will be to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister at 2:30pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Ernie's favorite charities.
