Gale Wright

Gale Wright born April 22, 1933, Gale passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 23rd, 2013. Gale was a veteran of the US Army and a retired S.F. Police Sergeant. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise. He was a devoted father of three - Bruce, Michael, and Nancy, and a loving father-in-law to Frances and grandfather to Jennifer and Jeremy. He was married to Louise for over 57 years.

Born in Oxnard, California, Gale moved to San Francisco at age 14. He graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco. After the Army, Gale spent over 27 years working for the SFPD, mostly in the Accident Investigation Bureau, and retired after 8 years in-charge of the Hit & Run Detail. He was very active in the S.F. Police Officers Association and spent 18 years as Secretary of the Veteran POA.

Gale loved camping, boating, waterskiing, reading, drawing, cruising, and house painting, including painting many houses in the Sunset District. He loved NASCAR and Mickey Mouse, and taking care of their second home at Lake Berryessa. Gale was a very kind, generous and strong individual and touched everyone's lives. His absence will leave a terrible void in his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to .
