Harold Flinn

Harold (Hal) Flinn, passed away in Santa Rosa, CA on May 15, 2013, with his devoted family by his side. Happily married to Dolores for over 56 wonderful years. Loving father of Karen, Ken (Kathy) and Dave (Jennifer). Proud grandfather to Jonathon, Lauren, Andrea, Mackenzie and Delaney Flinn.

A native of San Francisco, Hal was born to Harold and Mary Flinn on April 17, 1929. He was a graduate of Balboa High School and San Francisco State University. Hal served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Involved in the sport of baseball all of his life, he was a pitcher for the SF Seals in the Pacific Coast League and was signed by the Cincinnati Reds. Hal later moved on to have a successful career with the SF Recreation and Parks Department for 40 years, and retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation. He served as a Commissioner Emeritus of the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). Hal loved to fish, ski, play golf, spend time with family in the mountains, take his faithful dog Annie for walks, watch sports and cheer on his grandchildren in their growing years.

Hal requested no services be held. A private gathering will take place at his Tahoe home. We wish to thank the caregivers at Kaiser for their excellent care and kindness. Contributions to the Sonoma Humane Society, P.O.Box 1296, Santa Rosa, CA 95402 are preferred.
