James Mannion

James T. Mannion

Long-time resident of Burlingame, CA, James passed away peacefully on October 15, 2013 at the age of 85. He leaves this earth to rejoin the love of his life, Patricia, forever in the heavens. Loving father of Cynthia Mannion of Boulder Creek, CA and Kathy (Tom) Roberson of Milpitas, CA. James loved and adored his grandchildren: Valerie Roberson, James T. Roberson and Jake Garrett Roberson. Loving son of the late Michael and Alice Mannion; dearest brother of Michael of San Francisco (late Barbara), and the late Sister Mary de Lourdes, Poor Clares. James will be missed as he was the best father-in-law a son-in-law could ask for.

Born in San Francisco on January 30, 1928, James went into the military at the age of 17 and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. James was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries he incurred, along with many other medals, he was a true unspoken hero. After leaving the military, James opened his own business, and being of Irish decent it only made sense to open a pub. Mannion's was a very well known Irish pub located in the heart of Burlingame for over 30 years. If ever you spent a night on the town in Burlingame, you probably had a chance to meet Jim, he never let a man be thirsty, even if he didn't have a dime.
