Jenna was born in San Francisco on September 2, 1975. She enjoyed living in the City and had a strong passion for roller skating and horse back riding in Golden Gate Park and long hikes on the beach. Her love of the outdoors was cemented by her four years in the MacAteer High School Wilderness Program from which she graduated in 1993. She dedicated most of her life to home heath care. She made the patients' lives easier by tending to their needs at home and running errands. Jenna was loved by her parents MaryPat Schofield and Ron Merritt; brothers, Patrick and Race Merritt; sister, Ayeesha Ellis; grandfather, Don Merritt; uncle, Bayne Merritt; aunt, Nancy Lang and numerous cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Barbara Merritt and Virginia and Patrick Schofield. The family wishes to thank the professional, compassionate staff at SF General Hospital. They did everything possible to save Jenna's life while helping us to make this tragedy as painless as possible on Jenna's family and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friends of Victim Witness, 850 Bryant St., Room 320, San Francisco, CA 94103.
