John Bacchini

John Louis Bacchini

John Louis Bacchini passed away peacefully at age fifty-six on April 14, 2013, at his home in Burlingame, California, surrounded by family and friends. Beloved son of Louis and Shirley Bacchini (both deceased). John was a true San Franciscan at heart, born and raised in the "City." He attended Notre Dame des Victoires, Saint Ignatius and the University of San Francisco. He was also a longtime member of the Olympic Club. John is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Joanne, and his most cherished daughter, Emma. He also leaves behind his sister, Judith Hellman (husband, Gary Hellman), nieces Amy Hellman Perkins (husband, Andy Perkins) and Nicole and Jenna Gomes, in addition his in-laws, Patricia and Joseph Gomes, and brother-in-law, Joe Gomes (wife, Sherri Gomes). There are also his many godchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

John's endurance and courage during this year's valiant struggle with Leiomyosarcoma was enhanced by family and friends, who surrounded him with love and support. His deep faith carried him through the numerous challenges and gave him peace in his final hours.

John will be remembered by his many friends for his enthusiasm for life, quick wit, and love of music-he was, don't forget, Johnny B of Johnny B and the Speedshifters. Never did a man have so many best friends.

A celebration of John's life is scheduled for friends and family on Friday, April 19, at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Angels Church, Burlingame. His family thanks all those who contributed their love and support. In remembrance of John, and in lieu of flowers, the family has established an education fund for Emma at United Health Credit Union in Burlingame.
