John K. Kellogg

John Kendall Kellogg age 83. Mill Valley, Calif. Died November 9, 2012. Born July 23, 1929 in St. Helena, Ca to John Kellogg Sr., and Ruth Kellogg(Hewitt).
John spent his youth in Berkeley and Concord, after high school John served in the U.S. Army in Korea. After returning home John was accepted to the Boalt School of Law at UC Berkeley, but instead decided to pursue a degree in engineering. John graduated at the top of his class in 1959 from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He retired as the
Assistant Chief Engineer at the San Francisco Port Authority after 30 years of service in 1993.
In his retirement, John kept himself mentally sharp by engaging in card games of skill on a regular basis and enjoyed his weekly luncheons with his former coworkers. He remained a registered civil engineer with the state of California through his retirement.
John's generous spirit, intellectual curiosity and wry sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his brother Fay Kellogg in 2003 and is survived by his sister Charella, sister-in-law Ramona, three nephews, two nieces, five grand nieces and a nephew.
A private family memorial is planned in the near future.
