Joseph Nastari

Joseph Nastari
(a.k.a. "The Dancing Barber") Joe was born in Boston to Italian immigrants; one of 11 siblings. He served in WWII as an army barber prior to becoming SF's barber of West Portal. A true multi-tasker, Joe provided a trim, Sinatra/Dean Martin music and mid-haircut dancing lessons to customers' spouses - all for a reasonable price. By night, he danced the evening away at Bay Area ballrooms. He loved his Cadillacs, polishing his babies to the end, and delighted in people, children and life. He danced with his niece the night before departing and left with a song in his heart. He will be missed dearly by his surviving brothers Ralph and Charlie, sisters Lena and Theresa, sisters-in-law Yolanda and Kay, and his many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit after 9AM on Monday, February 25 and are invited to attend a Funeral Service also on Monday, February 25 at 12PM at Valente Marini Perata and Co., 4840 Mission Street, SF. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your chosen charity.
