MAHESH MANKANI

Mahesh Hari Mankani Dr. Mahesh Hari Mankani passed away unexpectedly on 4/24/2012. He was born on 4/25/1961, grew up in Honolulu, and graduated from Punahou School. Mahesh received his B.S. from Stanford University and his M.D. from the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. He did his residencies and fellowships at the University of Chicago, Georgetown University, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and National Institutes of Health. Dr. Mahesh Mankani was an Associate Professor in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Principal Investigator at the UCSF Surgical Research Laboratory at SFGH. He is survived by his wife, Vyji, son, Vir, daughters, Avani and Prina, of San Francisco; mother, Sushila H. Mankani of Honolulu; and sister, Sheila Mankani Bhatia of Piedmont. Mahesh loved the outdoors and all things mechanical. He spent his weekends with his family hiking, biking, swimming, and fixing and riding his motorcycle. He was exceptionally generous with his time and always placed others before himself. His quiet grace and kindness touched all who knew him. The funeral service will be held on Saturday 4/30/12 at 1 - 4pm at the Evergreen Mortuary of McAvoy O'Hara Co, Geary Blvd at 10th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94118.
