At home in San Francisco on June 9, 2013 at age 97. Loving husband of the late Jean Turk for 65 years; beloved father of Sandy and Richard (Katie); adored grandfather of Helen and Leah, step-grandfather of Katie German and great grandfather of William.
Born and raised in El Paso, TX Marcus went on to earn his law degree at the University of Texas and served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant during WWII. After marrying his bride Jean in 1943 he came to San Francisco and became involved in the retail clothing business on Clement St. operating the Coliseum Store for Men for 37 years until retiring in 1983. During retirement Marcus enjoyed his many travels with Jean and volunteered his time in the area of immigration law, helping those in need. He also continued his education at the Fromm Institute, learning about computers and other areas that interested him and he enjoyed passing along his knowledge to others. His graciousness and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
We would like to extend thanks and gratitude to Dale, Zenni and Lydia for their compassionate caregiving during the past few years.
Funeral services were held June 14, 2013, at Home of Peace Cemetery, Colma. Donations to the Jewish Family and Children's Services or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
