Margaret Downs

Margaret Ann Downs Margaret was a long-time resident of San Francisco. She died at the Mercy Retirement and Care Center in Oakland, CA .

Margaret was the eldest daughter and second of six children born to Thomas and Ann Downs in Madison, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her three brothers Robert, William, and Richard and survived by her two sisters Dorothy and Jean. Margaret was loved, respected and admired by her many nieces and nephews. Margaret was generous, gracious, loving and devoted to her family.
Margaret joined her family in San Francisco during WWII and shortly thereafter began her career with the United States Army at the Presidio in San Francisco. She retired from her position as an analyst to care for her mother in her later years. She was a devout Catholic and proud parishioner of St. Ignatius Church. She was also a long standing dedicated fan of the San Francisco Forty-Niners and Giants.

There will be a funeral mass at Mercy Retirement and Care Center at 3431 Foothill Blvd, Oakland, California at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013.
