Margery Donovan

Margery Ann Tumbleson Donovan

Peacefully passed into the arms of God on Sunday, July 28th 2013 at her home in San Mateo, California from breast cancer. She was 79 years old.

She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 22nd, 1934. She is the daughter of James Aaron and Anastasia Isabel (Brusnighan) Tumbleson. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Jeremiah Donovan, and their three daughters: Deborah Ferrier and her husband Bill, Nancy Bradley and her husband Marty, and Pamela Hollar and her husband Michael. She took great pride in her four grandchildren Timothy and Katherine Bradley and Christina and Daniel Hollar. She was greatly loved by her sister Delores Hilmoe and her previously deceased brother Dale Tumbleson. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a wealth of good friends.

Margery was most definitely a go-getter, always making the most of any and every opportunity. She was an inspirational Girl Scout leader. She always took pride in her beautiful garden, attending daily to her colorful signature hanging pots. She was an avid traveler, always researching and looking forward to their next adventure; she and Jim just this year visited their 50th state. They especially adored cruises, with a special fondness for riverboat cruising.

Her unfailing Catholic faith was the foundation by which she lived her life.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:15am this Saturday, August 3rd at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in San Mateo.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Hydrocephalus Foundation.
