Melinda was the high school sweetheart and beloved wife of Thomas LoSavio. They were married for 44 years and together for 50 years. She was the devoted mother and role model to Vanessa Leonard and Emily Jonas; cherished grandmother of Juliette and Cameron Leonard and Penelope Irene Jonas. Melinda was a caring sister to Bill O'Brien, the late Pamela O'Brien Schafer and her sisters-in-law Alberta LoSavio and Brooks O'Brien. She was the adored aunt to her niece Cassidy Noble. She was loved and cared for by her sons-in-law Brett Leonard and Alex Jonas. She is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and John O'Brien. Melinda was a great friend to many who will miss her laughter and wisdom.

Melinda was a talented interior decorator and committed school teacher. She spent many years volunteering at schools and was a natural leader in all her endeavors. Her great sense of style, poise and grace were always evident, even in her final peaceful moments of life. Melinda was well traveled and spent many years researching her ancestors in County Mayo, Ireland. She was proud to be a 4th generation San Franciscan who grew up in San Jose California, graduating from Notre Dame high school and San Jose State University. After living in Berkeley, Davis and San Francisco with her husband, Melinda moved to Burlingame where they raised their children and resided for 35 years.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Melinda's life at a memorial service at Mercy Center at 2300 Adeline Drive, Burlingame at 12:00pm on Saturday April 6th. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090, in memory of Melinda LoSavio.
