Passed away in Roseville, CA. on April 17, 2013. Muriel was the daughter of William P. and Mabel Stoll of El Cerrito, CA. She was born on July 26, 1917 in Berkeley CA. She was a 1939 graduate of the University of California Berkeley. While a student at U C Berkeley, she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She also met the love of her life C. Lee Emerson Jr. of Hemet, CA. while at Cal.

She and Lee were married on June 8, 1940 at St. Clement's Church in Berkeley, CA. After their wedding, she and Lee lived in Redwood City where Lee worked for Montgomery Ward. He soon accepted a position with the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, CA. Over the years as Lee moved up through the Kaiser organization she was a homemaker and mother. Muriel and Lee had two children, Barbara and Sue. While with Kaiser, the family lived in several places including Laguna Beach, and San Marino in Southern California. For over fifty years, Muriel and Lee lived in Piedmont. Her real passion was playing the piano. She was a gifted piano player and played many songs by ear. Muriel also volunteered with the Oakland Children's Home Society, Piedmont Community Church Alter Guild.

Muriel loved to travel. She and Lee enjoyed numerous adventures in Europe, Japan and various destinations throughout the United States. However, their favorite spot was the lovely home they built at Lake Tahoe in 1960. Summers were spent there until they sold it in the late 1970s.

Muriel was an avid golfer and a supportive fan of Bay Area Sports. She was a diehard San Francisco Giants fan and followed the team closely. She was thrilled when they won the World Series last year. In addition to golf, she loved to play bridge and had a wonderful group of ladies she loved to join weekly.

Her family members all affectionately called her "Mimi". She was preceded in death of her husband of 71 years, Lee. Muriel is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Emerson Field, husband Sid and Susan Emerson Clark and husband, Dan.

Grandchildren: Mary Jane Morrison and husband, Eric, Mark Emerson Field and wife Caryn Craig, William Clark, and wife Rachel, Steve Clark, and David Clark and wife Abigail Morgan

Great grandchildren: Anthony Field, Kylie and Ian Morrison, Kyra and Kinsey Clark, Gabriel and Lucy Morgan Clark, Brendan and Fiona Field.
