Richard A. Witzig M.D.

Dr. Richard A. Witzig passed away on April 18, 2013 at his home in Gardnerville, NV surrounded by family. Cause of death was a rare heart disorder. He was born on October 16, 1931 in East Orange New Jersey. "Dick" was an outstanding athlete in high school and college. He graduated from Lehigh University where he played basketball. He served in the Marine Corps. during the Korean War after which he attended medical school. He moved to California with his wife Mary in the mid 1960s and established a medical practice in San Bruno, CA. He took care of many people, delivered many babies, and served as Chief of Staff at Peninsula Hospital during his 35+ years in practice. Devoted to lively repartee regarding American politics he favored good humor, quick wit, and spirited debate. He is survived by his wife Mary, 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 greatgrand child.
