Salvador Dominguez

Salvador "Sal" Dominguez, 76, finished his journey of faith here on earth on March 26, 2013 and continued on to serve the Lord our God in heaven.

He was born on April 26, 1936 in a small community outside San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from high school he attended St. Mary's University and the University of Texas where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Education. He then earned his Master's Degree from UCLA.

After spending three years in the Navy as a medic, he decided his forte might be as a hairstylist. He attended cosmetology school in Southern California, and after receiving his license he immediately found work in Hollywood. This was in the early 1960's. A few years later he relocated to San Francisco and found work at the salon in the old I. Magnin store on Union Square. There he developed a tremendous clientele, worked on fashion shows and other high profile events. It was during this time that he met Roland Desormeaux and they had a wonderful relationship for almost forty years.

They both joined St. Andrew Catholic Church in Daly City in 1980 where they lived and served in many ministries serving the community of St. Andrew.

Sal and Roland traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Far East but were always happy to return home to Daly City!

Sal is preceded in death by his partner Roland Desormeaux, parents Antonio Dominguez Sr. and Manuelita Preciado and brothers Antonio Dominguez Jr. and Robert Dominguez. He is survived by brother Jesse Dominguez and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
