Shelley Ann (Seaman) Patterson

Shelley Ann
Seaman Patterson

1948-2013

Known to her family and friends as sweet, unassuming, cheerful, and fiercely determined, Shelley struggled with early onset dementia

Shelley just stopped breathing on April 8th and died peacefully, probably without awareness or pain, as seemed true throughout the latter stages of her illness.

She was married for nearly 35 years to Terry Patterson of San Francisco. Shelley earned two Masters degrees, an ABD in Counseling Psychology, and was a registered occupational therapist, career counselor, and an officer in the US Public Health Service. Gina became the light of her life when she was born in 1980. Besides her husband and daughter, Shelley is survived by a sister, Carol in Virginia, a brother Richard, in Texas, and many friends.

Shelley received wonderful care from loving caregivers at the best assisted living facility in San Francisco, Providence Place.

Please remember Shelley with a smile and appreciation for her loving spirit.

A memorial celebration of Shelley's life will be held at our home on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3pm. Information can be obtained at pattersont@usfca.edu Contributions are welcome in her honor where she volunteered at Project Open Hand openhand.org.
