Tauaese "Mr. T"

Tauaese, son of Tauaese and Leata Tiumalu was born in Fagatogo, American Samoa. He enlisted in the US Army in 1951. He was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1954 he met the love of his life, Telesia Mageo and they were married in 1955. From this union they had five children. After serving Honorably for 21 years. He retired from the Army in 1972 and began working for the Environmental Protection Agency in San Francisco. In 1973 he began his second career with the civil service as a sports specialist at the Presidio of San Francisco. It was at this time he became known as "Mr. T". After his retirement From the army he continued his education and received his Associate of Arts from City College of San Francisco in 1979. He retired from civil-service in 1995. He loved playing racquetball and volleyball. His greatest loves were listening to his Samoan music, dancing and spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Eucharistic Ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Telesia, Children; Lillian, Louis(Rosa), Christine (Fiti), Carol (JP) and Franklin (deceased) 2 brothers; Seufagafaga (Luavalu), Malouamaua (Toavalu), 2 sisters; Lily Tuia, Taumalatou, and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 6:00pm at Church of the Good Shepherd. Funeral liturgy Friday, November 16, 2012 at 9:30am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at 12:00pm at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
