Vincent F. Courtney

Passed away in Reno, Nevada on April 15, 2013. Vincent was born in San Francisco on Oct. 28, 1943. He graduated from St. Monica's, Riordan High School in 1961 and San Francisco State University in 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Nora Courtney, his sister Mary Bernadette Jordan and nephews David Ross, Daniel Jordan and Sean Courtney.

Vincent is survived by brothers John Courtney of Tracy, Daniel Courtney of Napa, and Steve Courtney of Sonoma, and sisters Joan Courtney-Ross and Charlene Courtney-Dunn of Mill Valley. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Danielle Dunn, Robert, John and Will Jordan, Jenny and Steve Ross, Catherine Ross-Pegeron, Joe and Sara Courtney and Heather Courtney-Rocha, Jimmy and Michael Courtney and Teresa Courtney-Hillstrom. Vincent is also survived by cousins Pat Quinn, Mike Dalton, Donna and Robert Kerwin and Mary Ann Hickman.

Vincent enjoyed building fences and other construction jobs, and he was a tree-topper in the 60's for the Park and Rec. Dept. in Golden Gate Park.

Vincent lived in South Lake Tahoe and Reno for many years. He loved the outdoors and caring for animals.

Vincent will be remembered for his kind and generous nature, his warm smile, his twinkling eyes, his Irish wit and wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

A memorial service for Vincent will be private.
