Anne Doherty Obituary

Anne M Doherty Oct 15, 1926 - Nov 10, 2010 Anne Doherty passed away in her sleep on November 10 at Buena Vista Manor. Anne grew up and lived in Philadelphia in a home with the Sisters of Charity. She then ventured into the world working as a secretary for the Federal Government. She traveled extensively. Finally, she moved to San Francisco where she worked for many years for the SF Government. Anne loved to be teased, to laugh, and to share a meal. Her favorites included a nice piece of salmon and lots of sweets. The heavenly banquet will have a wide variety of desserts for Anne. Anne was a faithful daily Communicant at St. Ignatius Parish. She is already missed. None of her siblings survives her. Friends may visit Tuesday Nov 16 after 11:30 AM and are invited to celebrate a Mass of Resurrection for Anne 12:05 PM (BOTH AT) St Ignatius Church. Remembrances in Anne's name may be sent to St. Ignatius Parish, 650 Parker St, SF 94118. McAVOY O'HARA CO 415-668-0077

I remember Aunt Anne from her letters about her travels and her gifts to us from the places she visited. She was my Mom's youngest sister and I always wished we could be together more. Rest in peace, Anne.

I think met Aunt Anne twice, once in the 1960s in Pittsburgh when I remember that she smoked, which seemed to make her daring and bold at the time. Then again in the late 1980s at her apartment in San Francisco when my parents were visiting me while I atended law school at Berkeley. I am glad to know that Ms. St. Marie was a friend to her in the last years of her life.

Ann, My mothers older sister was not well known by me. My mother talked of her so we did know of her. I remember her visit during my mother Cathrine S. last days. My prayer are with her as they are with my mother. I'm sure they are enjoying each others company now. Joseph Paul Colantuono.

Ann was my aunt, while I didn't really know her as my mother(her sister)and Ann were orphans raised by the sisters of charity, I do remember my Mom talking about her... I imagine they are both at the table of the lord. I regret not having known her better, and will keep her in my prayers. Marye Burton
