Robert Wayne Lopez

Robert Wayne Lopez Apr. 19, 1939 ~ Oct. 17, 2010 Bob was born to the union of Ramon Lopez and Josephine Garcia in Oakdale, CA. In his early years, he followed the migrant farm workers in the central valley of California working in the fields with his parents. His parents later moved to San Francisco where he received his education in the public school system which in his later years he was asked to leave. Several months after, he met Eleanor C. Laniohan whom he married and had three sons with. He later attended adult education classes where he got his diploma. Bob attended San Francisco College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1966 to work for his mother and step-father at their family owned mortuary, La Estrellita on Valencia Street which they later moved and changed the name to Green St. Mortuary. Member of SF Mortuary Employees Union 9409. Bob was an enticing, entertaining and knowledgeable embalmer at many funeral homes in San Francisco and the Northern San Mateo County. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Lopez; his sons, Robert (Cathy) Lopez, Joseph (Beatrice) Lopez, John Lopez; six grandchildren; great grand-children; his sister, Billie Galvan; an his daughter, Tina Peacock, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews and many loving friends. Friends are invited to attend the Vigil Service on Friday, 6:00 p.m., and the Funeral Service on Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at DUGGANS FUNERAL SERVICE, 3434 17th Street Nr. Valencia, thence to Mission Dolores Basilica where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Committal Private, St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Modesto, CA.
