I had the pleasure of knowing you both, Ken and Lil, as I have lived next door to you for almost two years with my Aunt Cat. Although I didn't know Ken for very long, he made me feel as though I had known him for years. He was friendly and would always take the time to stop and say hello. I was lucky enough to have shared margaritas and good conversation with you two on one occasion. I always hoped we would be able to do that again soon. I remember one day Ken came over and brought toys for my two little boys and when we came over to say "Thank You," he seemed very happy and really enjoyed talking to the kids. I remembered thinking, "They don't make neighbors like this anymore." Once, I was locked out of my home and Ken and Lil were angels and let me and my boys hang out with them until help arrived. I will never forget your kindness. I know Ken created beautiful paintings and his artwork is just amazing. Ken had a great sense of humor and had many interesting stories to share. I will miss our “happy hour” margaritas at your home and seeing that great smile. I think Ken reminded me of my Grandpa that I lost over 20 years ago. He will always have a special place in my heart. I am sorry to say I do not have your telephone number, but here is mine. (650)766-2479. If there is anything that I can do to help out, I certainly will. Lil, if you need me to move the car for street cleaning or take out the garbage on Thursday nights, I can do that. Anything, and I mean anything, please know I am right next door and willing to do whatever I can. I hope to be at the services tonight, but I have to pick up my children after work. I may not be able to find someone to watch the boys, but if that is the case, I will bring them with me. Everyone in our household will miss Ken and please accept our deepest condolences.
With love,
Tania Spooner, Noah, Gabriel, Cat & Kristen Valdez
