John Harrington Jr.

John Frank Harrington,Jr., 1923 - 2010 Passed away peacefully at home May 26, 2010. Loving husband of Marie, for 65 years, Devoted father of Michael (Barbara), Kathleen, Jeffrey, and Kim. Beloved son of the late John and Genevieve Harrington, brother of the late Pat Howard and Donald Harrington, Adored Papa of Lynn, Kristin, Brian, Michael John, and Anne, Great Papa of John and Tony, Favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proud Navy veteran of WWII. John was a sweet, kind, family man, loved by all who knew him. John embraced, and was dedicated to, the spirit and mission of the Salesian Boys and Girls Club. He worked as a volunteer and member of staff for over 45 years, helping to shape the character of hundreds of young men and women. Beyond the Club, his kind and friendly presence brightened the day of North Beach residents whom he greeted with a smile and a wave, often while walking his dogs. A memorial mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Church on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:30 am.
