Gerald Bellagamba Obituary

Dr. Gerald Arthur Bellagamba Apr. 17, 1920 - Sept. 10, 2010 DDS, passed away in Walnut Creek on Friday September 10, 2010. Gerald was born in South San Francisco on April 17, 1920. He was a Rossmoor resident, formerly of Oakland. Gerald was a graduate of UCSF Dental College Class of 1943, and served as a Major with the US Army Dental Corps in the Pacific during WWII. He practiced dentistry in Oakland for 40 years. Gerald was a life member of the Alameda County Dental Society, Calif. State Dental Assn., and American Dental Assn.. He was a member and Past President of the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists, and also a member of the UCSF Parnassus Club, UC Dental Alumnae Assn., and UC Alumnae Assn.. Gerald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Bellagamba; sons, Robert Bellagamba and Dr. Richard Bellagamba; daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Adrienne Bellagamba; brothers-in-law Louis (Carol) Galli and Robert (Gail) Galli; and grandchildren, Theresa, Ashley, Michael, and Andrew. There will be visitation at Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave., Walnut Creek from 4-7 PM Thursday September 16, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne Church, 1600 Rossmoor Parkway, Walnut Creek on Friday (9/17) commencing at 10:30 AM. Private entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette. Those wishing may make contributions in his name to the Parkinson's Institute and Clinical Center, 675 Almanor Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94085 or to your favorite charity. I send sincere condolences to Mrs. Bellagamba and the family. I became a patient of Dr. Bellagamba just after he graduated from dental school and I was at Mills College and stayed with him until he retired. My husband Walt Byron, who passed away in June 2009 also was his patient. We remembered him and Mrs. Bellagamba very fondly Sincerely, Yvonne Byron.
