Edward Charles Emerson Jr.

Edward Charles Emerson, Jr. June 14, 1927 - Nov. 16, 2010 Edward Emerson Jr., passed away on November 16 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents; Blanche Morrell Emerson and Charles Edward Emerson, Sr. and his brother Andrew Emerson. Edward was survived by his loving wife of 65-years, Florence Alice Emerson and his devoted children; Daniel Lee (Karen M.) Emerson and Linda Ann Townsend. He also leaves behind his brother; Reed Emerson, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Ed also leaves many friends and will be dearly missed by all. After graduating from high school, Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class. He then started his own drapery and window covering installation business and later worked with his good friends at Rudolph Interiors. He was very involved in local civic clubs including; The Elks Club and was as Senior Honorary Life Member of Sons in Retirement and former Chairman of Area 4. He was instrumental in setting up and organizing many of the golf tournaments for the members and played the game with passion. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, November 18 at 4 p.m. at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City. A Vigil Service with a Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. also at Duggan's Serra. The Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday Also at Duggan's Serra Mortuary. Committal will immediately follow the Funeral Service at Italian Cemetery, 540 F Street, Colma. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Western States Affiliate, Data Processing Dept., 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010 in memory of Edward Charles Emerson, Jr.
